LiT4Q\u2122 is a TLR4 agonist and the saponin QS21 in a liposomal formulation of about 100 nm in average diameter. The combination of TLR4 agonist and QS21 synergizes in producing a potent, balanced immune response with a T<sub>H<\/sub>1 bias. \nTLR4 in a Liposome<\/h4>\n

Liposomes consist of vesicles formed by the assembly of phospholipid bilayers. \u00a0These vesicles can be made at ~100 nm diameters and have good stability. \u00a0Liposomes are versatile and biocompatible vehicles for adjuvant formulation. \u00a0As an amphiphilic molecule, the TLR4 agonist will be localized within the lipid bilayer. Furthermore, aqueous adjuvants such as QS21 can be encapsulated in the aqueous interior of the liposomes or solubilized in the aqueous bulk phase forming an adjuvant like the established adjuvant AS01B which has demonstrated good results in malaria, shingles, and TB.<\/p>\n
